How to Adjust Refrigerator Door Hinges
Are you having the problem of your refrigerator door not closing properly or tilting to one side when shut? Ensuring a tight door seal will help save you money, energy and prevent possible food spoilage. By following these instructions you will be able to fix this annoying yet simple problem.
How to Adjust Refrigerator Door Hinges
Step 1
Find the plate on the corner of the refrigerator where the door hinge is (it is, in fact, part of the door hinge). This may be covered by a cap that is easily removed with a screwdriver.
Step 2
Leave the refrigerator door closed (the door will remain in place and will not fall off). Loosen the hinge screws and align the top of the door so that it is level with the top of the refrigerator. Tighten the screws until the door and the top of the refrigerator are flush. The top hinge adjusts only the top of the door.
Step 3
Adjust the middle hinge to straighten the lower portion of the door. Use a level to ensure the door is flush.
