How to Put the Oven Door Back on a Kenmore Range

Tammatha R. Conerly

To deep-clean your oven, you may want to remove the door. Removing the door is the easy part; putting it back on can be a bit tricky because the hinges are spring-loaded and very tight. Here's how to put the door back on a Kenmore Range oven.

  1. Pull hinges up to open them. You may need something such as a wooden spoon to give you some leverage.

  2. Place nails in holes, one on each hinge. When the hinge is open about halfway, you should see the hole. This will hold the hinge open.

  3. Place the door 4 to 5 inches from the closed position, making sure the hinges engage the two pins in the oven.

  4. Slowly open the oven door, making sure the hinges are engaged.

  5. Remove the nails.
