How to Troubleshoot a DCC-2000 Series Cuisinart Coffee Maker
The Cuisinart DCC-2000 Series Coffee Maker produces up to 12 cups of coffee and uses a double-wall reservoir to maintain a high coffee temperature. The coffee maker offers 24-hour programming and an auto shutoff feature, a visible water level and indicator showing how many cups of coffee are remaining in the reservoir. While the DCC-2000 coffee maker should operate well with basic care and maintenance, issues may occasionally occur. Troubleshooting these problems may help resolve any difficulties.
Ensure the DCC-2000 is plugged into a working power supply and turned “On” if the device is not powering up. Reset local fuses or circuit breakers if necessary.
Open the top of the coffee maker and ensure the filter basket holder is set firmly into the basket holder. The filter basket holder must be in position for the device to work correctly and produce the desired number of cups of coffee.
Ensure the coffee filter basket handle is positioned facing the front of the unit if coffee seems to be blocked or not enough is produced. The handle can interfere with the coffee production if it's not in the proper position.
Check how many tablespoons of ground coffee were placed into the device if the coffee maker is overflowing. The maximum capacity is 15 tablespoons of coffee for 12 cups of coffee. Empty the coffee reservoir, rinse and fill with 1 tbsp. of ground coffee per cups of coffee to be brewed. Refill the water reservoir and start the brewing process.
Wait for the coffee reservoir to cool prior to cleaning the unit, if the reservoir is warm to the touch. If the reservoir is still warm, the coffee in the reservoir is hot as well and may cause burns.
