How to Reset GE Deep Fryers

Chad Buleen

GE deep fryers are programmed to be able to protect themselves against damage due to overheating. If a GE deep fryer overheats, the device automatically turns the power off so that the heat can no longer elevate. You must reset the deep fryer to be able to turn the device back on. Resetting a GE deep fryer is not hard, but it can be tricky to do if you do not understand where the reset button is.

  1. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and from the fryer socket.

  2. Wait until the deep fryer and the oil inside of it cool completely. This could take more than an hour.

  3. Press the small "Reset" button with the tip of a pen or pencil. The reset button is located at the back of the control assembly. The deep fryer is now reset.
