However, the same process is used to mount house numbers on all types of exterior wall surfaces.

Position the screw-on house numbers against the wall where you want them mounted. Check the positions with a level if you want the numbers mounted in a straight, level line. Mark the holes for the screws using a pencil.

Drill into the wall at the marks you made. Choose a regular bit for wood, metal or vinyl siding; use a 1/4-inch masonry drill bit for stucco, brick or cement. When connecting numbers to brick, make sure you are drilling into mortar. Drill to a depth of 2 to 3 inches.

Insert plastic anchors from the kit into the holes. Tap the anchor with the rubber mallet, if necessary, to push the anchor into the hole and make it flush with the wall surface.

Insert screws from the kit through the screw holes on the first number. Screw the screws into the anchors you installed, until the screw is flush with the surface of the number. Do not overtighten the screws, or you may damage the plastic anchor.

Secure the remaining numbers in place, following the procedure in Step 4.
