GE Profile Refrigerator Instructions
GE Profile refrigerators are a line of consumer side-by-side refrigerators available in black, white and stainless steel. The refrigerators also include a built-in ice maker, as well as an ice and water dispenser built into the door.
The control panel of the ice and water dispenser is used to control the temperature of both the freezer and refrigerator and is used to activate additional features such as "TurboCool" and "Quick Ice."
Adjust the temperatures of both the freezer and the refrigerator using the "Warmer" and "Colder" buttons on the ice and water dispenser on the front of the freezer door. The freezer buttons are located on the left-side of the display, and the refrigerator buttons are located on right-side of the display. The refrigerator is programmed to 37 degrees F, and the freezer is programmed to 0 degrees F from the factory.
Press the "Quick Ice" button if you would like to make ice quickly. When pressed, the temperature of the ice maker is lowered in order to freeze water more quickly to make ice.
Press the "TurboCool" button to quickly cool the items in the refrigerator. This button is used if the power has been off for a prolonged period of time, if a large amount of leftovers were just placed in the refrigerator or if food has been placed in the refrigerator that has been left out and reached room temperature.
Press the "Cubed" or "Crushed" buttons to determine which type of ice you would like dispensed from the ice and water dispenser. Press the "Water" button if you would like water to be dispensed from the ice and water dispenser. To dispense the selected item, press a glass against the pad in the rear of the ice and water dispenser.
Replace the water filter approximately every six months. The water filter is located inside of the refrigerator, in the back upper-right corner. To remove the water filter, turn the cartridge to the left to unscrew it from the housing. Screw the new cartridge into the housing, and then flush water through the ice and water dispenser for approximately three minutes. Press and hold the "Reset Filter" button on the control panel to reset the filter light and timer. The filter and light will be illuminated every six months to remind you to change the filter.
