How Do I Replace Wellborn Cabinet Hinges?

A properly working kitchen is important to many cooks.

Because of this, many people purchase Wellborn cabinets, which have an excellent reputation. Wellborn makes all types of cabinets, including several that are made with a cabinet hinge. While these are usually very sturdy, you may find that they wear over time and need to be replaced. In order to accomplish this task, begin with the cabinet door held open. You may want to enlist the help of a friend.

Release the CLIP locking mechanism on both of the cabinet hinges with the tip of the flat-head screwdriver. The CLIP lock is the plastic clip located toward the end of the hinge on the cabinet door. Slide the cabinet door off the hinges.

Locate and remove the plastic hinge cover on the inside of the cabinet housing. Pry the smaller oval-shaped piece off with a flat-head screwdriver. Place the tip of the screwdriver under the larger cap piece and pry it outward until the cap breaks free.

Reach inside the cabinet and unscrew the four screws that secure the Wellborn cabinet hinges to both sides of the unit. Use the Phillips screwdriver.

Install the replacement Wellborn cabinet hinges by reversing the removal process.
