Homemade Lightbulb Changer
Everyone has at least one light bulb in or around their home that is located high above the ground. Dragging out the stepladder and climbing to the top is cumbersome and potentially dangerous. Here's an easy-to-build solution that makes changing high light bulbs a snap.

Things You Will Need
- empty drink bottle
- scissors or hacksaw
- 1/2" PVC pipe
- vise grips
-
Cut the bottom out of an empty drink bottle that has a diameter about the same as that of the light bulb.
-
Slide the end of the PVC pipe into the mouth of the bottle.
-
Tighten the mouth of the bottle around the PVC pipe using the vise grips. A small pair of vise grips works best.
-
Raise the bottle-end of the PVC pipe and place it firmly over the light bulb to twist it off.
Tip
The interior of the bottle can be lined with masking tape or cloth to diminish the inside diameter and get a better grip on the light bulb.
