How to Replace a KitchenAid Superba Oven Light
Like many ovens, the KitchenAid Superba comes with an interior oven light to make loading and monitoring food easier. The light bulb doesn't last forever, and after several years of use you will need to replace the oven light. The 12-volt, 5-watt-maximum bulb is simple to remove and replace.
You will notice the bulb has burned out when you open the door or press the "Oven Light" button and the oven remains dark.
Things You Will Need
- Replacement bulb
- Tissues
-
Let the oven cool down if it was used recently. Disconnect the oven's power by unplugging the power cord or flipping the circuit breaker.
-
Grip the bulb cover by the front edge and pull forward to remove. Place it to one side while you work on the bulb.
-
Take out the dead bulb and discard. Keep the bulb and take it to a hardware store if you need help finding a replacement.
-
Insert the new bulb, being careful not to touch the glass of the bulb. Oil from your skin can cause halogen bulbs to fail prematurely. Grasping the bulb with a tissue often helps.
-
Snap the cover back over the bulb and reconnect the power. The light should come on again when you open the oven door or when you press the "Oven Light" button.
